Alessandro Giunta

Guitar

Alessandro Giunta, from Verona, trained with Giovanni Puddu at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena and at the Accademia Internazionale “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, within the Master’s Degree courses in Guitar.

In Imola he also benefited from the guidance of Marcin Dylla, Matteo Mela, Arturo Tallini and Giulio Tampalini, as well as Alain Meunier and Marco Zuccarini for chamber music.

After completing a degree in International Cooperation and Development at Sapienza University of Rome and obtaining his Academic Diploma in guitar with top marks at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, he refined his methodological approach to instrumental teaching and developed an active concert career that has taken him throughout Italy and to many European countries, both as a soloist and as a member of chamber ensembles.

His commitment to the original guitar repertoire, his careful philological research into Bach’s lute works and his strong interest in new music make him an especially eclectic musician.

In recital he can be heard performing works by Mauro Giuliani, the leading guitarist-composer of the First Viennese School, as well as contemporary masterpieces involving the guitar, including Pierre Boulez’s Le Marteau sans maître and György Kurtág’s Grabstein für Stephan.

He was selected by the Fondazione Accademia Internazionale Incontri con il Maestro in Imola to take part in Giovani Talenti Musicali Italiani nel Mondo, a project developed in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and CIDIM — Comitato Nazionale Italiano Musica.
