Simone Lanzi, born in 1993 in Trieste, began playing the double bass in 2012.
In 2013 he started his Jazz Bachelor studies at the Conservatory with M° Maier, and in 2016 he also began the Classical Bachelor with M° Sciascia. In 2018 he completed the Jazz Bachelor with 104/110 and in 2022 he completed the Classical Bachelor with 109/110.
He has collaborated with projects including Brazos – Black Suit Trio, Orchestra Laboratorio 3.0, Emanuele Grafitti Trio, Eastern Border Ensemble, TILT, Tsikarim and others.
His recording work includes Brazos – Black Suit Trio EP 1 and 2, Mingus’ Grooves, Edgar Meis, Eastern Border Ensemble, TILT, Misa a Buenos Aires by M. Palmeri and Emanuele Grafitti Trio.
After ranging from Greek and Turkish music to jazz and classical music, in recent years he has focused entirely on jazz in all its forms, seeking a personal improvisational language. This language reaches full expression in his latest project, Simone Lanzi 4et – Il Sogno di Leandro, an album of original music recorded in Trieste and due for release in the coming months.
